Who it's for
For people who don't stop training on holiday.
You know how it goes. The hotel gym is a treadmill and two dumbbells. A day pass somewhere unfamiliar is expensive and a bit awkward. Four days later you come home having lost your rhythm, or you booked a fitness retreat and gave up the actual holiday.
Elefante is both. Coached training every morning, then the sea, the food and the warm October light of the south of Italy for the rest of the day. It was made for active couples and training partners: people who want to keep moving on holiday, together, without having to negotiate over it.
Why here
Everything is inside the building.
Palazzo Elefante della Torre has stood in the middle of Galatina since 1723. A gym built into the stone cellar. A rooftop over the whole old town, with a small dip pool to cool off in. And the noble floor between them — four bedrooms under six-metre vaults, with the original tiled floors still down.
You train, swim, eat and sleep without leaving. For four days none of it is shared with anyone else: eight people and two coaches in a building made for one family.
Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, all under the original vaults. Every room is for two, so Elefante works the way most people like to travel anyway: with a partner, or with the friend you already train with.
October is the reason for the timing. The sea off Salento is still warm enough to swim in, the summer crowds have gone home, and the olive harvest is starting. It's the best month of the year down here and almost nobody outside Puglia knows it.
